PREFACE (Japanese)

The Kuroshio Exploitation and Utilization Research (KER) programme, organized by the Science and Technology Agency, was promoted from 1977 in cooperation with major Japanese oceanographic institutions, its firstand second phase completed in March 1986 and March 1993 respectively.

It has been continued as the third phase for the elucidation of change mechanism about circulation system of the north Pacific Ocean subtropical zone since April 1993.

The Japan Oceanographic Data Center (JODC) has annually published the Data Report of KER as one of the products of the programme and has distributed them to the institutions concerned.

Incidentally, since April 1996, JODC is providing users with above data by JODC WWW Server through the Inter Net instead of the issue of Data Report.
