3rd International Workshop for
GODAR-WESTPAC
at
Japan Oceanographic
Hydrographic and Oceanographic
Department,
5-3-1, Tsukiji, Chuo-ku,

OBJECTIVE:
The
objective of this
workshop is to review the progress and activities of GODAR-WESTPAC and to discuss
the promotion of the project and cooperation in the WESTPAC region in
accordance with the IODE policy and the GODAR initiatives so as to contribute
the oceanographic research activities through rescue of oceanographic data in
danger of lost.

workshop will be held at the conference hall at 7th floor of Hydrographic and Oceanographic
Department, Japan Coast Guard from

Ocean
Policy Research Foundation (OPRF)
Ship & Ocean Foundation (SOF), alias
Ocean Policy Research Foundation, was established in 1975. Under support from
The Nippon Foundation, the private non-profit organization is undertaking
activities related to a wide range of maritime issues. As the scope of its
activities have expanded, SOF has recently adopted a new name, "Ocean
Policy Research Foundation", which better illustrates their current
concerns and operations --- multi-disciplinary researches into ocean-related
issues to make practical policy proposals in the areas of marine environment
protection, maritime resources preservation, etc. OPRF is headquartered in
Tokyo.

EXPECTED PARTICIPANTS:
The
workshop will expect a participation of
(1) Representative from Data Centers or Designate National Agencies (DNAs) of IODE in
the WESTPAC region,
(2) Competent organizations
(such as research institutes) which will be expected a contribution to GODAR-WESTPAC from each
country in the region, and
(3) Representative from the International
Projects or Organizations who will be able to cooperate with GODAR-WESTPAC
The
workshop will be opened for the people who are interested in GODAR-WESTPAC.
LANGUAGE:
The
workshop will be conducted in English
REGISTRATION FREE:
The registration
and participation of this workshop will be not charged. But all participants should be requested to
register at
All
representatives from Data Centers/DNAs and competent organization of each county will be requested
to report on their activities related to GODAR-WESTPAC.
The
presentation by the representative of International Projects or Organizations
will be welcomed, and also they will be requested to make a consultation with
