CLIVAR
An International Research Programme on Climate Variability and
Predictability
CLIVAR started in 1995, is an
international research programme addressing many issues of natural climate
variability and anthropogenic climate change. As part of the wider World Climate
Research Programme (WCRP), CLIVAR is giving insights into the working of the
climate system and hence answers to important questions.
Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler Data Assembly Center
Acoustic
Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) is an ocean research instrument to provide
information on a structure of ocean current profile, and to be utilized in
various ocean projects.
Since the World Ocean Circulation Experiment (WOCE) came to a close at the
end of 2002, under a CLIVAR mandate, the JODC and the Joint Archive for Shipboard ADCP
(JASADCP) at the University of Hawaii have continued the activities which
the ADCP Data Assembly Centers had assumed during WOCE.
The JASADCP was established by US-NODC in collaboration with the
university of Hawaii. It is responsible for the acquisition, review,
documentation, archival, and distribution of shipboard ADCP data sets.
ADCP data archived at JODC through the IODE world-wide networking are
available on J-DOSS (JODC Data
On-line Service System).
