水色(Water color)

波高(Wave height) (WMO 1555)

注意：

1. 各コード値は高さの範囲を報ずるためのものである。

   例えば、

   1 = 1/4 m (1 ft) 〜 3/4 m (2 1/2 ft)

   5 = 2 1/4 m (7 ft) 〜 2 3/4 m (9 ft)

   9 = 4 1/4 m (13 1/2 ft) 〜 4 3/4 m (15 ft) など

2. もし波高が二つのコード値に対応する高さのちょうど中間である場合には小さい方のコード値を報ずる。例えば、2 3/4 m　の高さはコード値5とする。
3. 航空予報コードでは、左記の表のみを用いること。この場合にはコード値9は、4 1/2 m (14 ft)　あるいはそれ以上を意味する。
4. 観測している波浪系のうちで比較的に大きな形の良い波を観測して得られる波高(波頭と谷の間の垂直距離)の平均値を報ずる。

風浪階級(Sea State) (WMO 3700)

波の高さは、観測している波浪系のうちで比較的大きな形の良い波を観測して得られる平均波高。
ちょうど境界に当たる高さは下のコード値に入れる。例えば波高4メートルの場合にはコードは5とする。

うねり階級（Swell）

短く：

波長100m未満、周期8.0秒以下

中位の：

波長100〜200m、周期8.1〜11.3秒

長く：

波長200m以上、周期11.4秒以上

波の周期(Period) (WMO 3155)

注意：

1. 波の周期とは、二つの連絡した波頭が定められた点を通過する間の時間である（波長を波の速度で除したものに等しい）。
2. 観測している波浪系のうちで比較的大きな形の良い波を観測して得た波の周期の平均を報告する。
