Access to the database of
statistics of ocean current in 1 degree meshThis product is a summary of statistical analyses (by month in 1 degree) of
surface ocean current data from GEK (Geomagnetic Electrokinetograph) ADCP
(Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler) data in the sea near Japan.
The data used are for 1953 to 1994. A screen shows statistics of a month at a
level in 11 degrees by 11 degrees in latitude and longitude around the selected
station. It includes mean velocity (upper), mean current direction (arrow) and
number of samples (lower) in the grid. Mean and maximum current and stability
for the grid indicated by the red square are also displayed below the map.
